Carl Roa comments…
Posted in Uncategorized on 05/15/2011 07:44 pm by Peter GusmanoIt was a great pleasure to work with Pete in the studio on a “Flickering Light”. Pete’s unique sense of melody and song structure is sure to delight fans of melodic rock and roll. I am proud of the guitar tones we pulled off with this recording … from really heavy crunch to colorful chiming strat cleans. It’s all there! Each track on the cd stands on it’s own, each with it own story to tell. That’s rare for an instrumental record. Aside from recording and producing I also lent a fun solo to the track “Toxic Anger”. Check it out!

Joe Nardulli, Prog Rock Guitarist of Ad Astra ….comments on ” A Flickering Light “
Posted in Uncategorized on 05/15/2011 07:43 pm by Peter Gusmano“Your CD has spent a lot of time in my player since I got it and I’m diggin’ it. Really enjoy the “Through The Window” tune, especially your wah work there. Actually all of your wah stuff sounds great. Killer tones and playing on the blues tune at the end; you and Sal contrasted nicely. Loved the feel/vibe in “Salvation”; the layered melodies after the solo worked nicely as well. The volume swell part in “Upstream” is a cool contrast to the stuff going on before & after it. Your range of tones overall is wonderfully diverse, from the dirties to the cleans, to the effects used. It sounds like a lot of different guitars and amps were coming in and out of Magic Elf Studios! I like the warmer, rounder tones on the CD (”Vissudha”, “Pain of Wisdom”), A nice piece of work and a testament to your Satriani/Vai/Balducci influences. But more importantly, the spiritual satisfaction you attained in this tribute to your beloved mother must be an indescribable feeling; and gives testimony to the kind of man you are. Congratulations!

Blues City Music Supporting “A Flickering Light”
Posted in Uncategorized on 05/15/2011 07:42 pm by Peter GusmanoLast year, I reached out to James Burke at Blues City Music about possibly finding an amp to use that I would love. James, not only a tone guru, but an awesome friend…suggested the Soldano Hot Rod 50+ for me. Well, this is the amp of amps! Tone beyond tone! For those who are thinking of an amp, please consult with James as he will steer you in the right direction and give you more time than any store ever would. A true pro and Ive finally found my tone! Also much thanks to Mike Soldano for his support!
Thanks to James for this micro site page off his site…dedicated to my project. Check it out!!!

Welcome to Guitar For A Cure!
Posted in Uncategorized on 05/15/2011 03:20 pm by Peter GusmanoAll,
Thank you for visiting my website, Guitar For a Cure…which is as much your website as it is mine. Its here that I would love your feedback, pictures, reviews, opinions and beyond…100% of all cd sales will go straight to Lillians Journey that supports Project ALS and their passion to cure this disease.
Three years ago, I lost my mother from ALS (Lou Gherigs Disease) at which point I knew that I needed to make a difference and contribute to finding a cure. For my whole life, I have been playing, performing and writing music. Six years ago, I began the quest on the dream to learn to play guitar. As a drummer, I always dreamed one day I could learn guitar, which I feel is the most expressive of all instruments. The guitar has a way of evoking emotion that is simply stunning. After years of study and surrounding myself with such beautiful people who embrace the instrument, I began to write instrumental pieces throughout this journey. Once my mother fell ill, I began to write and channel more into expressing myself. Ive always felt that melodic guitar parts take you on a journey somewhere in your life…and become personal to each who hear it. My mother loved this passion for guitar and my first song “Blend” was written for her on her 70th birthday.
Over the last few years, I began to write and experiment with guitar sounds and tossed around the idea of pulling together my music and using it as a way to give support to the people trying to cure ALS….
Last year, I entered the studio and re-recorded all of my music which was an amazing experience and a lifelong dream of mine. This CD is dedicated to my mother, Lillian…for always being there as an inspiration in my life and embracing my love for music.
Each of you has the opportunity to make a difference in a real way…and join me on a journey of hope. I will update this site regularly with how things are progressing and hope that you join me on this dream of mine…
Much Love
Peter Gusmano
