Step Inside Guitar For a Cure …

Welcome to Guitar For a Cure. My name is Peter Gusmano and I am a guitarist/songwriter from Long Island. Several years ago I lost my mother to ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Throughout her illness and beyond, my passion for music and learning guitar inspired her. It found me writing songs that formed a soundtrack to this long journey. I knew that I needed to not only make a difference but also help contribute to finding a cure for this debilitating and mysterious disease which claims over 30,000 Americans a year.” The result is my new CD of original instrumental guitar songs titled “A Flickering Light.”100% of its proceeds will be dedicated to Project ALS, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and finding a cure for ALS.

To date, I have raised over $20,000 for Project ALS and with your support and passion for music, we can all make a difference.  The project has since been covered on Fox TV, NBC, CBS Radio, Newsday, Ad Age, Mediaweek, Guitar 9 and more.  2009 and 2010 saw Guitar For a Cure ™ named as a top independent 501 (c) (3) for Project ALS.  Please bookmark this site and visit it for updates on my passion for writing music and making a difference to those who suffer with ALS.
